Mrs. Koberlein's Weekly Message-August 30, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, August 30, 2019

Dear HCA-OLP Families,

We had a wonderful full week of school this week. The students have really settled into routines and built relationships with their teachers for this year. Now they are really getting into the academics and they have started on the great task of learning new things about reading, math, and the other subjects.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you all enjoy the three-day weekend!

In God’s Peace,

Mrs. Katie Koberlein

Principal, Our Lady of Providence Campus

Spirit Day Change

Our first spirit day will be this Thursday, Sept. 5. There is a change for spirit day dress guidelines for this year. This year, students may wear regular uniform bottoms or gym uniform bottoms with their HCA spirit shirts. They can wear their choice, regardless of whether or not they have PE that day. Also, please remember students may wear HCA school spirit shirts, not OLP parish/sports spirit shirts.

Health Forms

A friendly reminder - yellow health forms for all students should have been filled out and turned in to the school office. Also, any new students and all students in kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade need to have a physical and an immunization record turned in. Having this paperwork helps us to be attuned to the medical needs of each student so that we can keep everyone safe and healthy here at school.

School Counselor

Returning to our school for this year is our school counselor Erika Freiling, from Saint Louis Counseling (formerly Catholic Family Services). She will be here at the OLP campus on Tuesdays again this year. Click Here to learn more about our school counselor and find out what she does for our students. If you are interested in your child receiving her services, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office and we can send home the necessary paperwork.

Fourth-Grade Bible Mass

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus! This Wednesday, they presented Bibles to our fourth graders. The students are delighted to have their own Bibles to use in their journey to learn more about God.

Blue and Gold Rush

The Blue and Gold Rush raffle ticket sale is now live. This is an important fundraiser for our school. We are asking each family to sell four $25 raffle tickets. There will be prizes for the top-selling families as well as a big special surprise if 90% of HCA families meet this goal.

You should already have received a link that you can use for selling tickets. Ticket sales are open until midnight on Sept. 19, and the winners will be announced on Sept. 20. The grand prize is $2,500, and there will be a total of ten winners. If you have questions about this raffle sale, please contact Lauren Bryant, or (314)475-3436.
