Mrs. Dolan's Weekly Message-February 21, 2020

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, February 21, 2020

Dear Holy Cross Families,                                                                    February 21, 2020

With Fr. Mike on vacation, Fr. John Brennell, Pastor of Seven Holy Founders, celebrated Mass at the middle school this week. He spoke with the students about being positive stressing that negativity breeds more negativity. He encouraged the students to hang around with other students who are leading their life in a positive way. Friends should build each other up by working in a positive way towards Christ.

Every year, the Billiken Teacher Corps hosts Catholic School Olympics for the BTC teachers and their students. This year, Ms. Sasser, Ms. Ferrara, and the 6th grade students attended the Olympics filled with team games, trivia, and a St. Louis University Women's basketball game.

Mardi Gras: Tuesday, February 25, the Student Council is holding a Mission Carnival for all the students. This is a fund-raiser with the proceeds going to Melissa’s Hope Orphanage in Haiti and to the School Sisters of Notre Dame for their work educating the children in Africa. Each student brings in $5 to enter the Carnival where they will play various games. There will also be candy and soda available for a $1. The different grade levels will attend the Carnival in place of their specials and electives classes. The money raised from the Mission Carnival is in place of the traditional change collection bags on the elementary campuses.
