Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, February 07, 2020

Holy Cross Academy - St. John Paul II

Bulletin for the Week of February 9, 2020

There is no Thursday morning Mass this week, because we will have an all Academy Mass on Friday at Seven Holy Founders.

Schedule for Friday, February 14: On Friday, February 14, parents should drop K-8th students off at Seven Holy Founders for our all Academy Mass and Retreat Day. Dismissal on this day is at noon; we will dismiss students from the Church. Mass will be celebrated in the Church at 9:00, and parents are welcome to join us for Mass. Aftercare will be available at SHF for K-8th students. Preschoolers will have a regular day with dismissal at 11:45. Aftercare for preschoolers will be available at each preschool campus.

Valentine's parties are scheduled for each grade on Thursday, February 13, 2:00 to 2:45. Parent volunteers will plan the activities for the parties. Snacks and drinks will be provided by the school. NOTE: If your child chooses to give out Valentine’s Day cards, he/she should bring them on February 13, not February 14. If your child gives out cards, please have cards for all the children in your child’s class. Thanks!

Thursday, February 13, will be a Valentine’s dress down day. Students may dress down, but should wear something either red or pink.

Calendar Update: The JP2 Preschool Grandparents’ Day is scheduled for Thursday, February 13.

Reminder to 2nd grade parents: The First Communion Parent Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, in the cafeteria at JP2. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm.

Re-registration for the 2020-21 school year began this week using FACTS, the new school information system that we will initiate in 2020-21. Here’s how to access FACTS online. In Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer go to www.factsmgt.com and click Parent Login, then select FACTS Family Portal (ParentsWeb). Type the school's code: HCA-MO. Click Create New Family Portal Account. Type your email address and click Create Account. An email will be sent which includes a link to create your login. The link is active for 6 hours. From the email, click the link to create your Family Portal (ParentsWeb) login. A web browser displays your Name and FACTS SIS Person ID. Type a User Name, Password, and Confirm the password. You should be ready to start the re-registration process.

The Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation offers scholarships to families with students in area Catholic schools. There are some need-based scholarships and some that are not need-based, so all families are encouraged to apply. The application period will begin January 27 at 8:00 am, and some scholarships are first come - first served, so please apply early. Go to ttef-stl.org to apply. This online system will automatically sort your application to the scholarship you would qualify for based on your income level. Here are instructions for how families who do not currently have a scholarship can apply. Families who are renewing a scholarship should reuse the same login information. The deadline for families renewing a scholarship is February 28. More information is available at http://www.ttef-stl.org/info-for-parents/.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis has developed a new system for safe environment compliance called Prevent and Protect STL. All volunteers in the Archdiocese are required to register in the new system before December 31, 2020. This includes new volunteers and those who are currently in service. For those who have already attended a Protecting God’s Children workshop, your previous training date will transfer to this new system. In addition to attending a live Protecting God’s Children workshop, all clergy, volunteers, and employees will register for an updated background screening, view two new online training modules on abuse reporting and the Code of Ethical Conduct, and agree to the updated Code of Ethical Conduct. Please go to www.preventandprotectstl.org to register. To help you through this process, here is a document with helpful Instructions for Registering as an HCA Volunteer.
