Mrs. Dolan's Weekly Message-January 31, 2020

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, January 31, 2020

Dear Holy Cross Families, January 31, 2020

Pray for our eighth grade students as they participate in their Confirmation Retreat on Saturday. This weekend is also High School Letter Day. Our students are confident and ready to go having applied to fourteen different high schools. May they feel the Holy Spirit as they begin these new phases of life.

JA BizTown was a hit for 6th grade, especially having to delay it for a few days. The students were well prepared and did a good job. Thank you to Ms. Sasser for preparing our students and your good spirit in handling the delay.

I want to give a word of thanks and appreciation for our students this week. They have participated well in our Catholic Schools Activities and the majority of them earned a Dress Out Day for their good record on their Responsibility Cards. I am always encouraging them to say “Yes” to good opportunities. This week the Student Council and the School Ambassadors were busy planning and helping with CSW and Open House. In addition to the 8th grade Retreat, our students are participating this weekend in the SLUH Robotics Jamboree and a Bellarmine Speech Meet. Students who participate in school activities tend to be more engaged in their academic studies as well and enjoy school more.

Parents have also played a large part in our week. Thank you to the many volunteers for attending JA BizTown, and helping on Teacher Appreciation Day and Open House. The faculty and staff sincerely appreciate you entrusting your children to us and your support.

Please join the Middle School Faculty Monday, February 3 at 6:30pm on the Annunciation Campus. This meeting is for adults only and open to parents in all grade levels wanting to know more about our unique Middle School. The faculty will present an overview of our entire program and you will receive a packet of essential information. There will also be time for questions. Spread the word; friends and neighbors are welcome too.

On-line Registration opens Monday, February 3rd.

Scholarships: (from the Office of Catholic Education and Formation)

The online application opened for all families, new and re-applying, on January 27th, 2020. Alive! In Christ is first-come, first-serve for any siblings that may be eligible, so we encourage parents to apply as early as possible. Approximately 400 new awards will be available.

The application deadline for Beyond Sunday, SOAR!, Catholic Families Tuition Assistance (CFTA), and the Parish Employees Endowment Fund (PEEF) is February 28th, 2020. Any family who would like to be considered for these programs, even if they are applying for requalification, must apply between January 27th and February 28th, 2020. Up to 155 new elementary school awards will be available in Beyond Sunday.

It is important to remember that siblings attending the same school are not eligible in this program.
