Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-January 31, 2020

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, January 31, 2020

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

We have had an exciting Catholic Schools Week at our campus. We started on Sunday with Open House. Families from all five parishes and also new families to the Academy enjoyed a tour of our school. The children loved seeing their teachers in the building in which they will be at in the fall. Families seemed excited to see and hear what the Primary Campus has to offer.

On Monday, we all showed our school spirit in our new Catholic Schools Week t-shirt or spiritwear. In the afternoon the children played Minute to Win It games and ended with a dance party. Tuesday, everyone dressed supporting their favorite sport teams. The 4th and 5th graders played games with the preschool. At the end of the day, the faculty vs. 5th grade volleyball game was held in the gym, it was an exciting game with lots of cheering for both sides, the faculty won (don’t tell the 5th graders). On Wacky Wednesday, we saw so many fun ways that students and teachers dressed a little crazy. It was so much fun seeing all the different outfits and hairdos that were created. The entire campus read and enjoyed celebrating the 100th school day doing many different “100” day activities in the classrooms.

I want to thank Kenda Bacott for organizing the special lunch for the teachers and all of the parents who covered recess and lunch duties so all of the faculty and staff could enjoy their lunch together.

Friday was teacher appreciation day. Staff enjoyed handing out chocolate chip cookies at drop off and the parents who joined us at celebration of Mass together. The 5th grade did an amazing job on their Living Museum presentations in the afternoon. Thanks to all of the parents who joined us. We appreciate all of our SMA parents. I understand the sacrifice you make for your kids to experience Catholic Education. I want to personally say THANK YOU!!!!

Stay tuned for information for the online registration in the FACTS system for the 2020-21 school year. If you have any questions, please let me know.

God Bless!

Mrs. Karen Folk
