Holy Cross Academy - St. John Paul II

Bulletin for the Week of December 15, 2019

Friday, December 20, is our last day of school before Christmas break. We will be on an early dismissal schedule with dismissal for K-5th at noon. Preschool dismisses at 11:45. We will have class Christmas parties prior to dismissal, beginning at 11:00. Special thanks go to all the parents who volunteered to assist with activities at these parties. Please note: there is no After School Program on this day.

Wednesday, December 18, is "Pajama Day." Student may wear pajamas to school. In the afternoon, we will watch "Polar Express" together. Since they will be sitting on the cafeteria floor for the movie, students may bring a small "stadium" size blanket or beach towel, but no large blankets or pillows. Polar Express is a PG movie; if you prefer that your child not see this movie, please send a note to the JP2 office.

Mass this week is on Thursday morning at 8:00. The first graders with their fourth grade buddies are preparing Mass and doing the readings.

We will begin each week in Advent with a prayer service on Monday morning. As part of the prayer service, we will be making a living Advent wreath. Please have your child follow the dress code below and wear the colored shirt or t-shirt for their grade with their uniform bottoms.

K - 4th grade should wear green shirts or green t-shirts.

5th grade: Alaina, Anabelle, Isabella, Ellen and Sophie should wear pink. Kyle, Jasmine, Owen, Danovan, Sam, Colin, Nate, Ella, Josh, Ella, Emma, Ryan and Carter should wear purple.

Teachers wear red.

Please join us for the Christmas Concert on Thursday evening, December 19. The preschoolers will perform at 6:00 pm and K-5th students will perform at 6:30 pm. The concert will take place in the school chapel. Note: A letter with some directions regarding the concert from Mr. Wamser was included in this Friday's folder.
