Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-November 15, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, November 15, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

I want to thank everyone for their leftover Halloween candy donations. The charities were so excited that we thought of them.

The 3rd grade celebrated their 2nd place class prize from the Blue & Gold Raffle with a pizza party and extra recess this week.

On Thursday, the preschool and kindergarten children spent time with their Dads, Grandpas, and special friends at the Dads and Donuts. They played games, made paper ties, investigated animal pelts from Missouri Conservation, practiced measuring dad, and balanced pumpkins. Of course everyone loved the donuts, fruit, and special time together. Thanks to the preschool teachers and Miss Angie for making it a wonderful way to start their day.

The SMA Bookfair was a huge success and we reached our goal this year. The teachers also enjoyed the books that were purchased by families from their wish list to use in their classrooms. Thanks to the parents and volunteers who made it successful, especially Kenda Bacott for spearheading the event. The money raised will go to buy new library books and other resource books for the SMA campus.

Please pray for Caleb and Ben Schreckenberg and their Family for the loss of their grandmother.

The STUCO toy drive starts on November 18th if you would like to donate a toy.

We all want to welcome back our 2nd Grade teacher Mrs. Maggie Fitzgerald from maternity leave and thanks to Mrs. Noelle Trueman for doing an amazing job with our 2nd Grade class!

I hope to see some of you at the Gala Saturday Night. Have a great weekend.

God Bless!

Mrs. Karen Folk

Holy Cross Academy-St. Michael the Archangel Campus

HCA STUCO Toy Drive starts November 18th till December 2nd

The HCA campuses will be collecting unwrapped toys for the next couple of weeks to be given to the Wellston Center. Please have our children help other children have a bright and joyous Christmas.

Many children have had appointments during the school day. Just like an absence, the child will need to make up class work missed within two days. If possible, have appointments at the beginning of the day or end so the child does not miss as much of class.

December Lunch Orders

December lunch orders are now open. The last day to order lunch for December is Nov. 22. After you place your order, please send in a check for the amount you owe. Order now so you don’t forget!

Congratulations to SMA parishioner, Mr. Greg Meyer! Greg is one of the Legacy Award recipients who will be recognized at the HCA Gala on Saturday evening, November 16. The awards recognize service to Holy Cross Academy and to our five sponsoring parishes. Greg, thanks for your generous service to SMA and HCA! Other recipients are Karen Stolarski (JP2), Paul and Eryn Krobath (OLP), Jamie and Lynn Mealey (ANN), and John (Buzz) and Genie Swanston (SHF).
