Mrs. Koberlein's Weekly Message-November 8, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, November 08, 2019

Dear HCA-OLP Families,

Thank you again for entrusting us with your children. The teachers are looking forward to a chance to discuss your student’s progress with you tomorrow at conferences. I will be in the building, so please feel free to stop by the office and say hi!

Have a great weekend, and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

In God’s Peace,

Mrs. Katie Koberlein

Principal, Our Lady of Providence Campus

Cold and Flu Season

Cold and flu season has arrived in the St. Louis area, and HCA-OLP is no exception. At school, we remind the students to practice good hand washing and cover their coughs and sneezes. We also need parents’ help to reduce the spread of illness. It is important to keep your child home from school if there is a fever present or if your child shows other symptoms of illness. Students must have had no vomiting and be fever-free without the aid of fever-reducing medications for 24 hours before returning to school.

Food Drive

Thank you for your generosity during the HCA STUCO food drive. Here at the OLP campus, we collected over 500 food items! The class that collected the most, and the winner of the coveted Golden Can is Mrs. Hamill’s 5th grade. To celebrate the success of our food drive, we will have an out-of-uniform day next Thursday, November 14.

December Lunch Orders

December lunch orders are now open. The last day to order lunch for December is Nov. 22. After you place your order, please send in a check for the amount you owe. Order now so you don’t forget!

Intruder Drill

We will have an intruder drill on Tuesday, November 12. Student safety is very important to us, and so it is important to practice procedures for this just like we practice responding to other emergencies, like fires and earthquakes. Just like our other drills, this drill is not designed to scare the students, but to help them be prepared so they know they can stay safe at school. Based on the guidance of their teachers, students may practice going into “lockdown” in the classrooms or evacuating the building - two good options depending on where an intruder is in relation to a classroom. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Book Fair

The OLP book fair will be open during parent teacher conferences. See This Flyer for the details.

Parent Teacher Conferences

HCA Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 7. Appointments will be scheduled for the preschool and elementary campuses between 8:00am and 7:00pm and at the middle school campus between 8:00am and 12:00pm. Middle-school teachers are also available for walk-in conferences the evening of Wednesday, November 6 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Annunciation gymnasium.
