Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-November 1, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, November 01, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

We have had an exciting week at the SMA campus.

I enjoyed hosting the 4th and 5th Grade Coffee the Principal on Tuesday. Thanks to the parents who came to meet with me and enjoyed a cup of coffee and some bagels.

SMA Campus will Dress Down Day on Monday, November 4th for the great job of covering “St. Michael’s Shield” with the Canned Foods for the food drive for St. Vincent de Paul and St. Augistines.

Both organizations were so happy with the gracious and generous donations from our community.

Sra. Mills and her Spanish students created an Ofrenda for Dia de Los Muertos. This is an altar to celebrate the “Day of the Dead”. Students brought in pictures of loved ones who are deceased which were placed on the altar. The altar will be on display through parent teacher conferences.

The SMA campus had a fun Halloween. The preschool started the day with a parade of costumes. Many of the classrooms did fun activities including Zombie and Skeleton dance parties, haunted fact family houses, making masks and scary witches, reading spooky stories, and of course at the end of the day the awesome Halloween Parties.

I want to thank all of the Room Parents who made our Halloween celebrations so wonderful. The kids, teachers, and even I had a great time!!!!

The school office is accepting donations of any leftover Halloween candy that will be shared with Melissa Hope’s orphanage in Haiti and St. Augustines. Please send any donations to the school office by Wednesday, November 6th.

Today we all celebrated as a community All Saints Day led by the 3rd grade. After Mass, the 3rd Grade gave their Saint Presentations of their choice. They all did an amazing job!!!! Thanks to the parents, students, and Mrs. Kiley for all of your hard work.

Enjoy your weekend!!!

I feel blessed to be part of this community.

God Bless!

Mrs. Karen Folk

HCA GALA

On Saturday, November 16, 2019, we will celebrate the Holy Cross Academy Legacy Gala and Auction. Proceeds are used to invest in the future of Holy Cross Academy by enhancing the learning environment and giving our students the best resources available in the ever-changing world of modern education. We are asking our HCA community to come together in support of the 2019 Auction. There are so many ways in which you can help and all of us here at HCA have something special to give.
