Mrs. Koberlein's Weekly Message-October 11, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, October 11, 2019

Dear HCA-OLP Families,

It has been a wonderful full week of school. Each day, I see wonderful signs that the students are learning some of the lessons we are teaching them here at school, both in academics and in how they treat one another. I know that there is a lot of hard work at home that goes into that growth, so I want to thank you for all that you do at home.

Have a great weekend, and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Go Cardinals!

In God’s Peace,

Mrs. Katie Koberlein

Principal, Our Lady of Providence Campus

Additional Vision Screening

The results from the vision screening for grades 2 and 4 at OLP are coming home in today’s Friday folder. You will receive a half-sheet of paper with “normal screening” or “abnormal screening” circled. More information about what to do next is attached to those screenings that may indicate a problem.

Coffee with the Principal

Parents of kindergartners and first graders are invited to join me in the faculty lounge for a quick visit on the morning of Tuesday, October 15, from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. I hope to see you then! Second and third-grade parents will have their turn on October 22 and fourth and fifth on October 29.

Providence Fest

Our Lady of Providence Parish will be celebrating Providence Fest on October 11 & 12. Please come out for a fun time for the whole family! You don’t have to be OLP parishioners to come. For more information, go to http://www.providencefest.com/.

End of Fourth Quarter

The first quarter will end on Thursday, October 24. On Friday, October 18, the online gradebook will be closed for parent viewing to allow teachers to begin preparing report cards in our online system. Report cards will be available online on Friday, November 1 at 3:30 p.m.

Uniform Reminders

Our uniform is a visual reminder for our students of our Catholic identity in our school. It is important that our uniform rules are followed respectfully. For the most part, this is going smoothly, but I would like to ask you to pay attention to a few details.

  • Now that it is getting cooler, make sure your student has a uniform sweatshirt to wear to school. The options available are an HCA logo sweatshirt or fleece or a navy cardigan sweater. Non-uniform sweatshirts may be worn for recess only.

  • Socks should be white, navy, or black only. Logos on socks are acceptable, but prominent stripes and socks of other colors are not allowed.

  • The only jewelry permitted are religious medals, watches/fitbits, and post earrings which do not fall below the earlobe.

November Lunch Orders

November lunches are now available for pre ordering until midnight on Friday, October 18th. After you order, please send in your lunch money owed to your school office. Order now so you don’t forget!
