Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-October 4, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, October 04, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

We have had an exciting week at the SMA campus. Celebrating the Feast of the Archangels, picture day, spirit day, and the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with the blessing of the community pets. If you are free tonight come to SMA’s Oktoberfest from 5-11pm. Weather should be perfect.

We celebrated the Feast of the Archangels on Tuesday with a special community Mass. The students participated in a service project for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry by creating a decade of the rosary for clients. The students created a St. Michael’s shield of pictures of how their faith affects them. Students shared a special treat at recess. Many classroom buddies also learned more about the Archangels especially St. Michael watching videos and projects. What a special day!!!

Kenda Bacott, Bookfair Chairman, will be looking for parent volunteers to help during the Scholastic Book fair. Soon a sign up genius will be sent for sign up. A Scholastic flyer was sent home today for preview. The fundraiser directly benefits our SMA campus.

I feel blessed to be part of this community. Have a great weekend.

God Bless!

Mrs. Karen Folk

GYM UNIFORMS

Students of all elementary grades will not need to bring a regular uniform to change into on gym days. They will now be allowed to wear their gym uniforms all day long on PE days. This will help with more productive use of their time during the school day. The students are to wear plain navy blue longer shorts or HCA gym shorts and their gym shirt. Here are some places/websites you can pick up shorts and sweatpants for the upcoming winter uniform which is less than a month away.
