Mrs. Koberlein's Weekly Message-September 20, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, September 20, 2019

Dear HCA-OLP Families,

Thank you for your support at home during this week of testing. I know it can be a stressful time for some of the students. We made it through, and we will be back to normal next week.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend with your families!

In God’s Peace,

Mrs. Katie Koberlein

Principal, Our Lady of Providence Campus

Safe Touch Program

The Safe Touch program will be instructed the week of September 30 to all students in K-5. Safe touch is an Archdiocesan developed school-based curriculum for grades K-5. This program contains practical, helpful information to help children protect themselves from dangers that exist today. The objective of this curriculum is to teach our children self-protection skills. The Safe Touch curriculum approaches safety issues in a respectful manner, connecting our Catholic values with information to keep our children safe. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns regarding this important piece of your child’s education. Click here for more information about the Safe Touch Program.

Picture Day

Picture day is coming up on October 2. On this day, students may dress out of uniform. This will be the photo that will be used in the school yearbook, and parents may also purchase pictures. Information about ordering pictures is coming home today in the Friday folders.

Parking Lot Safety

Thank you all for your care for the safety of our students in the parking lot. Things have been going very smoothly with loading up the cars and exiting the lot safely. I would like to ask one thing, though. Parents of students who ride bikes home from school, please talk to them about proceeding carefully through the parking lot as they leave. They need to go a little slow and watch out for students who are walking to cars. Thank you!

We now have a wonderful volunteer, Lori Carter, who will be helping students check out books and reading stories to them in the school library on Thursdays. She is an OLP grandparent who lives nearby. Her first day was yesterday, and she said she had a great day with all of our wonderful students. Thank you, Mrs. Carter!

STUCO Representatives

Congratulations to Max Flores, Evan Buster, and Stella Schulte! They will be the OLP representatives for the HCA Student Council. We discovered an error in our count, and it turns out that Evan is also a winner.

October Lunch Ordering Open

October lunch orders are available online now. The last day to order October lunches is today, Sept. 20. Also remember that a milk is included in each regular lunch order, and a juice is included in a Friday pizza lunch order.
