Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-September 20, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, September 20, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

We are almost finished with Standardized Testing, just a few make up tests to complete. The students remained focused and really did their best during this week. Results from testing will be available in October. Your child’s teacher will discuss the results at Parent/Teacher Conferences in November. Thanks to all the parents for being so encouraging to their children during this stressful week. I know it means a lot to them.

I want to thank all of the parents who have offered to volunteer for the library this school year. I would like to have a meeting for all volunteers on Thursday, September 26th, at 2:00pm in the teachers lounge. Please let me know if you are not able to make it to the meeting and still interested in volunteering in the library. I would be happy to set up a second meeting.

Next Tuesday will be the Induction of the STUCO representatives at the Annunciation campus during the 8:00 am Mass. Congratulations to Caleb Schreckenberg and Kate Wilson who will be the SMA campus representatives this school year.

I feel blessed to be part of this community.

God Bless!

Mrs. Karen Folk

SAFE TOUCH

The Safe Touch program will be instructed during September 25-27 to all students in K-5. Opt out forms were sent home last week. I am sorry for any confusion about the forms. You only need to send the forms back if you do not want your child to participate. The material that will be presented in class is in the school office if any parents would like to take a look at the program.

Safe touch is an Archdiocesan developed school-based curriculum for grades K-5. This program contains practical, helpful information to help children protect themselves from dangers that exist today. The objective of this curriculum is to teach our children self-protection skills. The Safe Touch curriculum approaches safety issues in a respectful manner, connecting our Catholic values with information to keep our children safe. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns regarding this important piece of your child’s education.
