Holy Cross Academy - St. John Paul II

Bulletin for the Week of September 15, 2019

On Saturday, November 16, we will celebrate the Holy Cross Academy Legacy Gala and Auction. Proceeds are used to invest in the future of Holy Cross Academy by enhancing the learning environment and giving our students the best resources available in the ever-changing world of modern education. We are asking our HCA community to come together in support of the 2019 Auction. There are so many ways in which you can help and all of us here at HCA have something special to give. We offer tax-deductible sponsorship opportunities and we are always looking for donated items for our Live and Silent Auction. To volunteer or donate please email legacygala@hca-stl.org.

The Blue and Gold Rush, HCA's annual online raffle runs through Thursday, September 19. Tickets are $25 each or five for $100. Winners will be announced on Friday, September 20. Thanks in advance for your generous support of the Blue and Gold Raffle.

During the week of September 23-27, we will be providing the Archdiocesan mandated Safe Touch program to our students. This program provides a curriculum that teaches students appropriate boundaries and personal safety. If you would like to preview the materials that will be used or you would like your child to opt out of the program, please contact the JP2 campus office by Friday, September 20.

Note from the JP2 Parish Office: Please support St. John Paul II Parish and HCA by purchasing "scripts" for use at those stores that you regularly shop at. A percentage of each card purchased is returned to the parish. Funds from "scrip" sales go to funding the parish's monthly subsidy to support HCA. Please return order forms to the campus office, and we will send them on to the parish office. The link to the order form is Link to script order form.

October lunches may be ordered until midnight on September 20. After you order, please send a check for your order to the JP2 campus office. Also remember that milk is included in each regular lunch order, and a juice is included in a Friday pizza lunch order.

Congratulations to fifth graders, Owen Carr and Carter Sullivan, who were elected by the students to represent the St. John Paul 2 campus on the HCA Student Council. They will be inducted after Mass at the Annunciation campus on September 24.

Reminder: During pick-up and drop-off, the gate by the cafeteria will be closed for safety reasons. Please use Pebble Hill to enter the parking lot. Please do not open the gate.

Photo day is October 2. Order forms will be sent home on Friday, September 20.

During the upcoming week, September 16-20, our students will be taking the ITBS, the standardized test used by all the schools in the Archdiocese. Please encourage your child to get plenty of rest this week and a good breakfast before coming to school. The testing will be spread out over the entire school week.
