Mrs. Koberlein's Weekly Message-September 6, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, September 06, 2019

Dear HCA-OLP Families,

Thank you for your support at home as we get into the hard work of the school year and the students are doing homework and studying for tests. Already we can see the growth and progress the students have made after just a few weeks! If your student is having difficulty or even if you have any small concerns about anything that is happening in your child’s school day, please be sure to contact your teacher. We would love to address little worries before they become big problems!

Also thanks for your help with our fundraiser, the Blue and Gold Raffle. If you haven’t yet, please share your Blue and Gold link with family and friends. This is a great way to help out the school and have a chance of winning a cash prize!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend with your families!

In God’s Peace,

Mrs. Katie Koberlein

Principal, Our Lady of Providence Campus

Parking Lot Safety

Our regular drivers are doing a great job with our parking lot procedures. When you have other drivers coming to pick up students, please be sure to review parking lot procedures with them, especially the part about waiting to drive away until the adult on duty. This is very important for the safety of our students and for a smooth flow of traffic exiting the parking lot.

October Lunch Ordering Open

October lunch orders are available online now. The last day to order October lunches is Sept. 20. Order now so you don’t forget! Also remember that a milk is included in each regular lunch order, and a juice is included in a Friday pizza lunch order.

Blue and Gold Rush

The Blue and Gold Rush raffle ticket sale is now live. This is an important fundraiser for our school. We are asking each family to sell four $25 raffle tickets. There will be prizes for the top-selling families as well as a big special surprise if 90% of HCA families meet this goal.

You should already have received a link that you can use for selling tickets. Ticket sales are open until midnight on Sept. 19, and the winners will be announced on Sept. 20. The grand prize is $2,500, and there will be a total of ten winners. If you have questions about this raffle sale, please contact Lauren Bryant, lbryant@hca-stl.org or (314)475-3436.

All-Academy Mass and Retreat Half-Day at Seven Holy Founders

On Friday, September 13th, K-8 students will participate in the All Academy Mass and retreat day in celebration of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Parents are welcome to join us for mass at 9:00. All K-8 students will be dropped off and picked up from the Seven Holy Founders campus. Students should wear their white HCA logo polo shirts. Books bags are not needed for the day, but students who are staying for aftercare should bring a lunch.

Drop off at the SHF campus will be between 7:00 - 7:50. At pick up, parents will need to come into the building and sign out their child from their homeroom teacher. OLP students will be picked up in the Parish Hall. Due to the large number of students, you can pick up your student any time between 11:45 and 12:15.

Preschool students will stay on their home campus. If you have a preschool and K-8 student, we recommend picking up your preschool student first and then head to SHF to pick up your older students. Preschool students may be picked up starting at 11:30 this day.

STUCO Representative Elections

Each year, OLP students select two fifth graders to be our representatives to the Holy Cross Academy Student Council. We will hear speeches from those who are running on PNN this week, and our election will be Thursday, Sept. 12. Good luck to those who are running!

Health Forms

A friendly reminder - yellow health forms for all students should have been filled out and turned in to the school office. Also, any new students and all students in kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade need to have a physical and an immunization record turned in. Having this paperwork helps us to be attuned to the medical needs of each student so that we can keep everyone safe and healthy here at school.

School Counselor

Returning to our school for this year is our school counselor Erika Freiling, from Saint Louis Counseling (formerly Catholic Family Services). She will be here at the OLP campus on Tuesdays again this year. Click Here to learn more about our school counselor and find out what she does for our students. If you are interested in your child receiving her services, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office and we can send home the necessary paperwork.
