Ms. Abkemeier's Weekly Message-May 31, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, May 31, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Parents,

Happy Summer. Today, the Teachers and I give you back your child; the same child you confidently entrusted to our care last fall. We give you your child back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature than before. Although your child would have attained this growth no matter where they attended school, it has been our happy privilege to watch their personality unfold day by day and marvel at this splendid miracle of development. We have thrilled at each new achievement, each new success, and each new expansion of self.

I am grateful for the trust and support you as parents give to us each day and for working together with us to ensure that our school is a great place to learn and grow in faith.

Please know that I will always be interested in your child and in your child's destiny...wherever your child goes, whatever your child does, and whoever your child becomes. Your child's joys and sorrows I'll be happy to share. Please call on me if there is anything further I can ever do for you, for I will always remember both you and your child. I look forward to seeing your child out and about in the real world in the future, and hearing all the wonderful things they have accomplished and the people they have grown into being. I have loved my time at Holy Cross Academy, getting to know you, and especially, being with your children.

We had an awesome year. Have a happy, safe, and restful summer!

In order for teachers to work on grades and comments for the 4th quarter, the A2Z Gradebook will be turned off for parent viewing until Friday, May 31st. Report cards will be available for viewing on A2Z Friday, May 31st at 3:00 PM. Report cards will only be available for viewing until June 15th. After June 15th the report cards will be taken off A2Z to be archived for the year.

All incoming 1st - 5th grade students will be required to complete a summer packet to keep their minds fresh and focused this summer. The summer packets will include reading and math skills to practice over the summer. Elementary students often regress in their academic skills over the summer months if the skills are not continuously being practiced. These summer packets are designed to prevent this regression. These packets were sent home last week in Friday folders. They will also be available on the HCA website over the summer, AND are attached below in case you misplace it. They will be DUE on the first day of school.

Registration for Soccer and Volleyball will close on May 31st.

If you have questions regarding registration, please contact your parish rep listed. Please note that each sport is run by each of the individual parishes and not the school.
