Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-May 17, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, May 17, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

We have had a great last full week of this 2018-2019 school year. We are excited anticipating summer just around the corner. I just want to thank everyone for such a wonderful first year as Principal. The community at SMA is amazing. I have enjoyed working with each and every one of you and your children. I know a couple of families are moving on from Holy Cross Academy and I want to wish them well and my prayers are with all of you.

I want to thank Mrs. Eryn Krobath for a wonderful spring concert with grades 1-3. I really was emotional watching the children signing during their song. It was beautiful. Thanks to the teachers and their support preparing the concert. Great Job ALL!!!!

On Wednesday, the St. Louis Public Library representative came in to talk with everyone about the Summer Reading Program. I know handouts were sent home with your children. I highly encourage all families to participate in this wonderful program. Information was also sent through A2Z.

Some endings mean new beginnings for some of our teachers. We are grateful and thankful to Miss Alex O’brecht, 1st grade teacher, and Miss Gigi Mahfood, 4th grade teacher, for their years of service at Holy Cross Academy. We all wish them well in their new journeys. They will be missed.

We will welcome Miss McKinley Robbins in the fall as the new 4th grade teachers. McKinley is so excited to be apart of HCA. I am still currently working on filling the 1st grade position.

The end of the school year is fast approaching. With only a half of a week left, we are in a whirlwind of activities. I hope you are all feeling the excitement. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if there is any way I may be of help.

Hope you can join us for the Sending Forth Mass for 5th grade on Wednesday at 9:15 am. Dismissal is at 10:30 am. After school care is not available.

God Bless,

Mrs. Karen Folk

Principal, St. Michael the Archangel Campus

Summer Program - Totus Tuus

Totus Tuus is Latin for totally yours. This summer our five Holy Cross parishes have joined together to bring this Catholic youth camp to our students going into 1st-12th grade. It is designed to ignite their faith! Totus Tuus is dedicated to sharing the gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship all in a fun and exciting experience!

Our summer program will run the second week of July at Our Lady of Providence Parish. Each parish is responsible for promoting this opportunity to their parish parents and students (whether they go to Catholic or public schools). Each parish is responsible for handling their Totus Tuus registration.
