Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-May 10, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, May 10, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

May has been a busy month for everyone. It is nice to see the sun shine a little more so the students can get outside to play.

On Tuesday, the 4th grade went to Powell Symphony Hall for the “Link Up” field trip with Mrs. Krobath and Ms. Mahfood. The 4th graders played their recorders with the symphony. Thank you to all of the parents and students who joined us at Annunciation for the STREAM event on Tuesday night. The students enjoyed displaying their experiments and presentations for all of the visitors and parents to view. They have worked so hard on all of the experiments and were so proud.

The 1st grade learned about the disciples this week while the 3rd grade worked on Simple Machines. The 5th grade created reports on Missouri and did matchbook summaries. Insects were the subject of Preschool Science and Kindergarten made animals out of Model Magic to go with the habitats they created last week after their field trip to the zoo.

The 2nd grade surprised Mrs. Fitzgerald with a baby shower. She was so surprised and the students were so excited to make a book for her with “Baby Advice”.

A Special thanks to Shannon Smyka, Coltin Belitz, teachers and volunteers who organized a fun Field Day for HCA. A fun day was had by all. It was nice for the children being a little cooler.

Hope all mothers and the special women in your lives enjoy Mothers Day on Sunday. The world is a better place because of these special women and they deserve a day to call their own. Happy Mothers Day!

St. Michaels Auction is on Saturday night. The committee has been hard at work making it a night to remember.

Congratulations to all of the Quest SMA students who participated in the St. Louis Science Fair. The following students won ribbons for their projects: Nathan Frein (Blue Ribbon), Henry Seyer (Blue Ribbon), and Ryan Oakes (Red Ribbon).

Friendly reminder that next Tuesday is the SMA Spring Concert for grades 1-3 at 6:30 pm in the gym.

God Bless,

Mrs. Karen Folk

Principal, St. Michael the Archangel Campus

Summer Program - Totus Tuus

Totus Tuus is Latin for totally yours. This summer our five Holy Cross parishes have joined together to bring this Catholic youth camp to our students going into 1st-12th grade. It is designed to ignite their faith! Totus Tuus is dedicated to sharing the gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship all in a fun and exciting experience!

Our summer program will run the second week of July at Our Lady of Providence Parish. Each parish is responsible for promoting this opportunity to their parish parents and students (whether they go to Catholic or public schools). Each parish is responsible for handling their Totus Tuus registration.
