Mrs. Dolan's Weekly Message-May 3,2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, May 03, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Families, May 3, 2019

We began the week with a prayer service for our custodian Mike Tayloe. Today he was laid to rest in at his funeral Mass at St. Michael the Archangel. Mr. Tayloe was very kind, trustworthy and always willing to lend a hand. We will miss him, may he rest in peace.

Tuesday evening at Seven Holy Founders our eighth grade students received the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Reverend Michael Boehm, Vicar General for the Archdiocese told the students that the Pope is expecting “Great things from you”. Holy Cross Academy is too and we know that we will not be disappointed.

Bishop DuBourg Scholar Bowl: Congratulations to our 6th grade team of Lucy B., Maggie P., Isabelle M. and Kaylie C. for participating in the final scholar bowl round. Their team scored as second highest team overall. Individual honors went to Madhaven Anbukumar for second place overall on the written test and Maggie Powers for 1st place. Thomas B. received second place overall in eighth grade.

Respect Life Essay Contest: Congratulations to eighth grade students Rachel S., Ryan S., Caroline A., Thomas B., and Jack P. for being finalists in the Respect Life Apostolate essay contest sponsored by the Archdiocese. This contest provides an opportunity for students to express their beliefs about chastity and respect for human life as taught by the Catholic Church.
