Mrs. Koberlein's Weekly Message-April 12, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, April 12, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Families,

As the Lenten season draws to a close, we are entering Holy Week. I hope that you and your family are able to spend some time in prayer and reflection this Holy Week to prepare for the joys of the upcoming Easter season.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if there is any way I may be of help!

In God’s Peace,

Mrs. Katie Koberlein

Principal, Our Lady of Providence Campus

STREAM Showcase

We hope you can join us for our STREAM Showcase, at the Annunciation Campus on May 7, 6:30-8:00 p.m. Many of the exciting STREAM activities done by students in all grades will be on display.

Holy Week

The Lenten season is ending, and next week is Holy Week. We will have regular days of school Monday through Wednesday. Thursday, the students will participate in a day of religious activities, and it will be a half day of school. There is no after school program on Holy Thursday. There is no school for Good Friday.

Blood Drive

There will be a blood drive on Saturday, May 11 in support of Jack Perlongo, a former student at OLP. He is now a senior at Mizzou, and is in treatment for cancer. You can register at www.bloodcenter.IMPACT.org using sponsor code 10937.

Spring Book Fair

The OLP Spring Book Fair was a big success, with over $2,500 in sales, 70% of which goes directly to our school in Scholastic Dollars we can use to purchase books and other supplies. Thank you to all who shopped and worked at our book fair, and a special thanks to Collette Hermann, who organized the book fair for us!

May Lunch Orders

Ordering for May lunches is open online. Orders are due by April 18. Order now so you don’t forget! Please remember when ordering that a milk is included with a lunch order.

Change for Change Collection

During Lent, STUCO is sponsoring a Change for Change campaign. Students are encouraged to collect change throughout the Lenten season. Money collected will be donated to the children of Melissa's Hope Orphanage in Haiti and to help support the missionary work of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Brown paper bags to collect the donated change are coming home with your child today. Please return them to the school office by April 12. The deadline for turning in the donation has been extended until Monday morning, April 15. For more information on Melissa's Hope, please go to melissashope.org There are pictures and videos of the children and families in Haiti supported by the orphanage.

Fish Fry

Please come to the Our Lady of Providence Fish Fry. The OLP Men’s Club runs this fish fry every Friday in Lent except for Good Friday. The Men’s Club does a lot to help our school, and this is their main fundraiser. Come get some delicious fish (or frog legs!) while supporting our parish and school!
