Mrs. Folk's Weekly Message-January 11, 2019

Submitted to All Campuses on Friday, January 11, 2019

Dear Holy Cross Academy Families,

I hope all of you had a restful and joy filled time with your families and friends over the holidays. The children came back to school ready to learn. I was impressed at how well the students got right back into their good classroom habits.

On Thursday the fifth grade students took the ACRE test. The Assessment of Catholic Religious Education (ACRE) test measures knowledge of the faith as well as beliefs, behaviors, attitudes and practices of the faith. ACRE carries the endorsement of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and is based upon the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The diocese measures religious knowledge through use of the Assessment of Catholic Religious Education (ACRE) in grades 5, 8 and 11.`

Next Friday, January 18th, is the end of the 2nd Quarter and a noon dismissal. If you would like to sign up for aftercare on the 18th, please complete the form that is located on A-Zware so we can staff accordingly. There is no school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King holiday.

HCA is busy preparing for Catholic Schools Week. We will be kicking off Catholic Schools Week with HCA open houses at all campuses on Sunday, January 27th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Students are encouraged to show their Catholic School spirit by wearing their school uniform to all Saturday and Sunday Masses that weekend. More information will be coming out regarding the activities scheduled for CSW.

Please continue to pray for the Densberger Family as they continue to make progress in their recovery.

God Bless,

Mrs. Karen Folk

Principal, St. Michael the Archangel Campus

When the “Snow Schedule” is in effect, classes will begin at 9:30am for all campuses. Doors open at 9:00am. There will be no supervision of students available before 9:00 am. Consideration for those carpooling to multiple campuses will be taken into account. An email, text, and phone blast will be sent out to indicate cancellations or snow schedule.

Information pertaining to cancellations or “Snow Schedule” will be listed on the Storm watch on KSDK-TV (Channel 5). Information also will be posted on kmov.com. Look for HOLY CROSS ACADEMY - ST. LOUIS

Ultimately, we rely on our parents to make the decisions that are best for their children and families. We trust our parents to evaluate the conditions of their streets and make decisions accordingly.
